Nurturing future medical professionals through early exposure and engagement.”

Program Goals

Over the course of each one week session, SPMPP scholars will work to identify and describe the role and work of physicians and medical professionals, key academic and extracurricular steps required to pursue a career in medicine, and the role of physicians and medical professionals in providing holistic, patient-centered care at the individual and community level. SPMPP scholars will work closely with UFCOM medical students, faculty, and staff. They will have opportunities to observe direct patient care through shadowing, participate in hands-on skill-building sessions, curate a personal development plan to support their own professional growth, and complete a team-based capstone presentation that will showcase their cumulative learning throughout the week.
