Mission

To shape the next generation of medical professionals by providing high school students with early exposure to medical careers, fostering their interest and skill for future success in the field.

Overview

The SPMPP is a strategic initiative by UFCOM to expand its community presence by offering early exposure to medical careers at the high school level. In collaboration with UFHealth, Alachua County Public School, Suwannee River AHEC, and Community Partners. The program aims to cultivate the next generation on capable, well-rounded medical professionals who will not only enhance but also ensure successful health outcomes for the communities they serve and beyond.

Participant Eligibility

  • Must be a rising junior or senior from any Alachua County High school or any counties within driving distance.
  • Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or above
  • Must express particular interest in the field of medicine and a desire to explore various options.
  • Must complete the SPMPP pre-program survey and application

Participant Pre-Program Survey

This survey will provide a clear baseline for measuring students’ growth in knowledge, skills, and career clarity, and help customize the program to individual needs and learning styles.
