LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION REQUIRED
FOR THE 2009-2010 APPLICATION CYCLE
The University of Florida College of Medicine requires the following letters of recommendation:
- 2 academic letters of recommendation from science coursework
- 1 academic letter of recommendation from non-science coursework
- 1 character reference FROM A PEER (friend, classmate, co-worker)
A Pre-Health Advising Committee letter may substitute for the 3 academic letters
Additional recommendation letters are ACCEPTED

Admission to the College of Medicine is highly competitive. The college seeks students who demonstrate personal and intellectual characteristics expected of physicians including compassion, communicativeness, character, captaincy and competence.
There are three routes of admission to the University of Florida College of Medicine:
- Regular Admissions - Applicants who have or will have at least a B.A. or B.S. degree
- Junior Honors Medical Program - Seven year BS/MD honors program. Current college students do not apply until their second year at a state-accredited university.
- Transfer/Advanced Standing Admissions - transfers are considered from a Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) accredited medical school
